However, Today I have confused emotions, If it was the police that shot dead all these people yesterday, they don't deserve any respect of any kind, and they should be brought to justice.
Most of these casualties were in Alexandria and Sues, But TV cameras were focused on Cairo, and I did not see police use any live ammunition there. In fact, what I saw on TV was the police retreating after failing to control the demonstrations using traditional measures. They tried to control the mob, they failed, so they left and let Mubarak deal with the people's anger.
Their duty is to maintain order, and they did their best for 4 continuous days. Finally, It was clear that they should either start hurting people seriously, or escalate the entire situation to a higher authority. You all saw their choice.
It is still early to understand what really happened, and is still happening, and things are not necessarily what they appear to us, therefore, I still have these confused emotions about the Egyptian police. But when I was in Cairo, and saw how they dealt with me and my friends, I respected them.
